An excellent morning of learning took place today with the beginning of our Digital Learning project with Daniel and Emma from the AmmA Centre in Armagh. I applied to be part of this project last May and we were lucky to be one of the few selected to work alongside the AmmA Centre in a project using technology in the classroom.
As there are major building works taking place at my school, we thought that this would be a a good way to use technology and link it with real life contexts. The final goal of the project will be to create a scale model of the school in the Minecraft World, then showcase it using a 3D printer. The children are very excited with the prospect of this excellent opportunity to take part in high quality teaching and learning.
This morning, Daniel and Emma arrived to begin the planning process of the project with the children, using Minecraft Pocket Edition on the iPads. It was a fantastic morning of learning with children linking the topics of area, perimeter and volume with the project.

Today Daniel and Emma came in from the Amma centre. We drew out a plan for a house in minecraft by drawing a top view and a side view.We used brick,stone,glass and torches.The house was 20 blocks long,10 blocks high and 15 blocks wide.When we were finished we looked at other peoples work on the whiteboard.
ReplyDeleteToday we were doing a project about Minecraft.A centre called AmmA was working with us. Michael and Emma were working and helping us.We were building a structure of a house it had to be 20 blocks long 15 blocks wide and 10 blocks high. Before we started to build the house on Minecraft we had to make a plan. We got squared paper and a pencil and a ruler any we drawers the top view and the side view. We will be doing more work with the AmmA centre every Monday.
ReplyDeleteThis morning we were making a blue print of a minecraft house . First we used some squared paper to plan what and where things whould go and we hade to make it 20 blocks long,10 blocks high and 15 blocks wide. Then when we were ready we went on minecraft. First on minecraft we done the foundations wich were made with stone . Then when we did the foundations we moved on and did the walls wich were 10 high . Then if we hade time we got to make a garden on the frount . After all our hard work we shared our work on the interatitic whiteboard.
ReplyDeleteAt the start of the day we played minecraft on the iPads. Then we made a plan for our building. We had a sertant size and that was 20 long 10 high and 15 wide. We hade to make foundations for the house and it had to be stone because stone is strong. Then we shared are work on the whiteboard and we let everyone see around and inside our house.
ReplyDeleteToday a boy called Daniel and a girl called Emma came in. They both helped us make a plan to build a sturcture on minecraft pocket edition. Whad to build a house 20 blockes long 10 blockes high and 15 wide. We had to look at two veiws a bird eye veiw and a side veiw.Me and nikola made adifferent foundation we done tree oak wood as are foundation. At the end some people showed there houses to everybody in the class.
ReplyDeleteToday morning we got a squared piece of paper to do our plan on.On our plan we had to have top view and a side view we also had to have it 20 blocks long,10 blocks high and 15 blocks wide.After that we got to go on to the ipads and build it we had to have our foundation done first.Next we got to build the walls and the roof.After we were done we shared our work on the whiteboard some people had very good ideas it was fun.
ReplyDeleteThis morning a man called Daniel and a women called Emma came in to teach us how to build a house in a game called Minecraft.They work in a company in Armagh called AmmA.Well first we got into parteners and got some pages and pencils to draw our plan of our house.We had to draw the top view and the side view of our house.Our houses had to be 20 blocks long,15 blocks wide and 10 blocks tall.
ReplyDeleteWhen we finished our plan we stared building our house.The matirials me and my partener Kristian used were lime wool,black wool,glowstone,glass,emeralds,ladders and a sign.When we were all done some of the other parteners shared what their house looked like.My favourite was Adams.I liked his because he put some paintings on the wall and there was a secret room behind them with a treasure chest!!!
Today we were working with Daniel and Emma,we were using minecraft to make a house and we had to do foundations and plan it out on paper and there had to be 20blocks long,10blocks high and 15 blocks wide.
ReplyDeleteThis morning , people from AmmA centre called Daniel and Emma came into school to do a project with year 6 and 7 at first Daniel asked us if we have ever played Minecraft , mostly everyone sayed yes so next he went on Minecraft pocket Edition and showed us a house that he built . Then he told us they we had to draw a blue print of a house but it had to be 20 blocks long , 10 blocks high and 15 blocks wide. After that we got square paper and we drew are house we had to draw top view and side view .when we where done drawing are house we had to go and get a i pad of Emma and go on Minecraft .Then we started are house my group used bricks, wood ,stone and glass to make are house .At the end we shared are work on the white bord.
ReplyDeleteFirst we where given squared paper to design are house we had to have it 20cm long,15cm wide and 10cm up.We had to do a birds eye view and a side view.After we designed are houses we went on minencraft pocket edition.We started at making the outside walls on the house me and my partner used oak wood and oak planks.After we did are walls we did the roof out of oak wood we then went inside are house and started to make a chimney.Next we made sofas and beds we then went outside and started to make are garden we did a wooden fence then we got some lovely flowers like roses we placed them all around the garden. finally we finished and some people went up and should everybody there houses.

ReplyDeleteAt first Daniel gave us a plan sheet were me and Aimee had to plan our bird eye view and front view. The length of our plan sheet was 20 blocks
wide and 10 blocks high it was. My and Aimee house was made of lime wool ,black wool, glow stone and glass. I loved it, it was amazing working with Daniel and Emma.
Today Daniel and Emma from the Amma centre came to our school to teach us how to build a house on Minecraft .So first we made a plan to help us we used a pencil and squared paper. We put 20 blocks long, 10 blocks high and 15 blocks wide. The materials we used were glowstone, glass, brick, different colours of carpet and torches. Every Monday Emma and Daniel will come and do more stuff with us.
ReplyDeleteToday Daniel and Emma from AmmA came into our school, to show us how to build on mindcraft . We are learning how to draw buildings. Our building has to be 20 blocks long, 10 blocks high and 15 blocks wide, and we must be able to see the top view, and the side view. Our foundations are made from stone.

ReplyDeleteToday two people called Daniel and Emma from the Amma centre came to show us how to make a house on Minecraft. If you don't know what Minecraft is it is a game that you can play with different people from different countries and make cool things like houses, shops and maybe a city. We had to plan out our house I was working with Chloe our house was 20 blocks long , 10 blocks high and 15 blocks wide. The material's Chloe and I used was bricks, blue carpet ,glass and glowstone. At the end of our Yr6 and 7 Minecraft lesson we learnt allot of things on Minecraft. I liked working with Chloe on Minecraft it was fun. I enjoyed today working together with Chloe because she is kind . Daniel and Emma will be coming on Mondays to help us make our school and use a 3D printer to make a model of our school it sounds really fun and cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteToday at school a man and woman called Daniel and Emma came in to our school. They came from the AmmA centre in Armagh, They are a company who focus on technology for an example coding,programming and recently they have found MineCraft. Today they explained to us the benefits of MineCraft and how it is useful for lots of different subjects. Today we used it for numeracy,and used squared paper to plan out a house. We were not aloud to just make it as big or as small as wanted to we had measurements on the board ,here are the mesurements : 10blocks high, 20blocks wide and 15blocks long . Once we finished our plans and showed Daniel or Emma we were aloud to get an iPad and go on to MineCraft pocket edition . We had to copy our plans very carefully then choose a material to build with . In my pair we choose to use dimonds , glass,wooden door and stones for our foundation. Personally I thought that the foundation was the hardest bit to do and also took the longest . When time was up so e people had to go up to the board and share their houses. I really enjoyed this activity today .
ReplyDeleteThis morning, we went into the year 7 class sat down and two people from the AMMA centre came in all the way from Armagh. They came to help us with some of our maths and ICT skills. The two people were called Daniel and Emma.they brought some Ipads and we built lost of different kinds of structures but we had a limit of sizes allowed. 20 blocks long,10 blocks high and 15 blocks wide. The foundations were made of different kinds of stone. I really enjoyed working with the AMMA centre this morning.
ReplyDeleteThis afternoon we had fun visitors from the Amma centre came to talk about minecraft .we got to play mincraft pocket edition we had to build a house which had to be 10 blocks high 15 blocks wide and 20 blocks across. We had to work in pairs and our house was ok but it could have been better
ReplyDeleteToday we had two different visitors from the AmmA center in Armagh a man called Daniel and a woman called Emma.They work with technology and we got to use Minecraft to create a house.We had to make our house 20 meters long and 10 meters high and 15 meters deep.We had to work in partners me and my partner used cobblestone for the foundation. For the walls we used glostone and for the floor we used green and purple wool. For the roof we used glass. We also made a footpath to go in to the house. We decorated the inside of the house. When we were finished we displayed some on the whiteboard.

We had to plan our house from a top view and side view. The size was 20 blocks long, 15 blocks wide and 10 blocks high. The foundations were made from stone. Myself and my partner decided to build the house using diamond blocks, glass panes and wooden doors. After we completed our house we shared it with the rest of our class mates and year 7.
